Reigning champions Wexford advanced to a second successive Leinster Junior football championship final with a 1-15 to 1-9 win over Longford in Innovate Wexford Park on Thursday.

Wexford 1-15 Longford 1-9

The home side recovered from the concession of an early goal and raced into an interval lead of 1-7 to 1-4, with their entire tally coming from play.

Niall Harney grabbed the goal at the second attempt approaching half-time after his initial effort was saved, bundling the rebound over the line.

Although Longford narrowed the gap to one point on the re-start, Wexford quickly regained their composure and did more than enough to earn a Leinster final clash with Louth in Drogheda on Wednesday, June 22.
