Wexford fell to their first Lidl LGFA National Football League Division 3 loss of the season against Tipperary on Sunday afternoon.

Tipperary 1-7 Wexford 0-6

The game, which was originally a home tie for the Slaneysiders, was switched to Tipperary after the Gusserane pitch was deemed unplayable and no alternative venue was granted by any Wexford club.

The field in Cloneen wasn't in great shape and the conditions helped lead to a tight game where scores were at a premium. The hosts hit the front when Edel Hanley poked home in the 12 minute and were never caught.

Wexford eventully trailed 1-4 to 0-3 at the interval following scores from Catriona Murray, and the Cullen's, Aleshia and Marcella.

The visitors kept the game tight, adding scores from Murray (2) and Marcella Cullen in the second half but they could never get closer than a goal as the Premier women claimed their second win.

Next up for Wexford is a trip to Fermanagh in two weeks time where they will be favourites to take the spoils and edge closer to a semi-final spot.
