Six Wexford teams scheduled to take part in Leinster adult club hurling leagues
Some Wexford clubs will be trying to embellish their championship preparations with meaningful games in the Leinster hurling leagues over the coming months. As well as the local All-County leagues, six Slaneyside teams will be in action on the provincial stage too.
There is a local involvement in three of the four Division 1 groups. Rathnure will make the short journey to Borris to meet Mount Leinster Rangers (Carlow) in Group 1, before games at home to recently-crowned All-Ireland Intermediate champions Bennettsbridge (Kilkenny), and also to cuala of Dublin who lost the provincial Senior final to Oulart-The Ballagh in 2015.
Group 2 will see Ferns St. Aidan's play host to Lucan Sarsfields of Dublin before travelling to play Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton of Laois, and then taking on Carrickshock (Kilkenny) at home.
The Wexford representatives in Group 3 are Buffers Alley who will be at home to Camross (Laois), away to Tullaroan (Kilkenny), and away to Ballyboden St. Enda's (Dublin).
Two Wexford teams will compete in Division 2, with Craanford in Group 2 where they will take on near neighbours Carnew Emmets from Wicklow away, the St. Vincent's second string from Dublin at home, and Ballinkillen from Carlow at home. Shamrocks are in Group 3 and will face Glenealy (Wicklow) at home, Round Towers (Dublin) away, and Erin's Own (Carlow) away.
While there is no local representation in Division 3, the flag will be flown by Davidstown-Courtnacuddy in Division 4. Their Group 1 opponents will be the Carnew Emmets (Wicklow) second string away, Moorefield from Kildare at home, and Carlow Town H.C. away.
The fixture dates are: first round, Saturday, February 27, 3 p.m.; second round, Saturday, March 5, 3 p.m.; third round, Saturday, March 19, 3 p.m.; quarter-finals, Saturday, March 26, 3 p.m.; semi-finals, Saturday, April 9, 3 p.m.
