St Martin's powered into the Tom Doyle Supplies Senior Football Championship quarter-finals with another crushing victory, this time over Horeswood in Taghmon on Friday evening.

St Martin's 2-18 Horeswood 1-4

The Piercestown based side have now won their last three matches by fifteen, fifteen and seventeen points respectively as they brush aside opponents with the minimum of fuss.

Two goals in the opening four minutes had Horeswood staring defeat in the face as first Dathai Waters, and then Ciaran Lyng, found the back of Conor Swaine's net.

The victors led 2-7 to 0-2 when the New Ross District side pulled a goal back through Dale Flynn but it was only enough to keep them within eight at the interval.

Ciaran Lyng (2), Ciaran Redmond (3) and Ryan Murphy (3) all scored multiple points in the second half as St Martin's cantered to victory and a place in the knockout stages.
