Over 170 boys took part in the 15th Noel O'Brien Under-10 hurling festival which was hosted by Buffers Alley on Saturday.

Eight clubs - Craanford, Monageer-Boolavogue, Faythe Harriers, Shelmaliers, Crossabeg-Ballymurn, Buffers Alley, Glynn-Barntown and Ballyfad - fielded two teams each in two sections under the Go Games format.

There were 32 games in all and the boys showed great skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the blitz.

All of the many skills of the game were showcased and the players, parents and mentors can be very proud of how they represented their clubs.

After the final set of matches, Darren O'Brien, Noel's son, was on hand to present commemorative medals and goody bags, which were sponsored by Hammel's Centra, Kilmuckridge, to all the players.

The organising committee would like to thank all the clubs for taking part, the referees and all the parents and club members who helped to make the day such a great success.
