For 60 minutes this was all about Shamrocks, and with more accuracy in attack their victory margin could have been far greater over a poor Clonard outfit in this Enniscorthy Farm Systems Junior football championship Group A game in Monageer on Saturday.

Shamrocks 3-11 Clonard 0-5

Once Shamrocks raised the pace and intensity during the opening half there was only going to be one result.

The only matter to ponder was why their victory margin was not even greater given their total dominance, as Clonard for the second successive game went down to an embarrassing defeat.

Robert Moorehouse goaled after 16 minutes to give his side a 1-3 to 0-1 advantage and they went on to lead by 1-4 to 0-4 at the interval, with the opposing points coming from Dylan Carty (two), Andy Lehane and Rory O'Connor.

But while the scoreline did not reflect the winners' complete dominance, they compensated on the resumption as further goals from Barry Dobbs and Aaron O'Toole saw them turn their superiority into scores and an eventual victory, while defeat leaves Clonard rooted to the foot of the table.
