St Anne's won their second game in seven days in the Tom Doyle Supplies senior football championship in Taghmon on Sunday evening.

St Anne's 1-7 Fethard 0-5

Fethard were the victims this time in a low scoring game that, from an entertainment standpoint, never lived up to it's billing as the tie of the round.

The Rathangan men were without the services of influential duo David O'Connor and Redmond Barry but were still able to keep Fethard at arms length.

The first half was a tight affair. Two David Fogarty points helped ease St Anne's ahead but the New Ross District side kept in touch and were only trailing 0-4 to 0-3 at the half time break.

Ciaran Dwyer got his team on terms within three minutes of the restart but three overs in a row, from Sean Gaul, Liam Rochford and Jack Murphy eased the victors 0-7 to 0-4 clear.

Chris Colfer pulled a point back for his side in the 43rd minute and that's the way it stayed until Murphy wrapped up victory for the county champions with a goal in added time.
