Under-13 Academy off to good start

Over the last number of weeks Wexford G.A.A. officials have been developing a new Model Óg Academy.

This new initiative was set up to introduce our Under-13 players to formal inter-county training. The Academy is also being used to identify potential players for the county Under-14 squad which begins in January.

To date we have completed two training sessions in Ferns. Gerry Moran, who is co-ordinating this initiative, is delighted with the success of the academy so far with over 80 players attending each of the sessions.

Training continues next Sunday, October 25, in Halo Tiles Wexford G.A.A. Centre Of Excellence.

The training timetable is: South/Mid clubs, registration 9.15 a.m. for training at 9.30 a.m.; West clubs, registration 10.15 a.m. for training at 10.30 a.m.; North clubs, registration 11.15 a.m. for training at 11.30 a.m.

Wexford Coaching and Games would like to thank our co-ordinator Gerry and all coaches, players, and parents who are helping to make our Model Óg Academy a success. We would like to invite all clubs to ensure that they have players represented at next week's Under-13 training session.

For further information you can contact Gerry on 087-2874481 or on e-mail: moran_gerry@eircom.net, or you can contact one of the Wexford Coaching and Games team members at www.wexfordgaa.ie.
