Woeful Wexford outgunned by hungry Faithful

Wexford collapsed to a horrific defeat against Offaly in the All Ireland Senior Camogie Championship in Birr on Saturday afternoon.

Offaly 2-14 Wexford 1-7

The Slaneysiders thumped the same opposition just three weeks earlier as they claim the Leinster title but it was all-change in this one as the hosts played like the team that had recorded three resounding wins on the bounce.

There really was only one positive, and it's scraping the barrel, but fortunately Wexford seem to come out of the tie without any serious injury concerns. Offaly were brighter in the opening period and deserved their 2-6 to 0-6 after two Arlene Watkins goals. When there was no reply straight after the break, with Offaly nailing the first three overs, the game was up.

Wexford looked disinterested in the fourth quarter as they stuttered through the final exchanges. Kate Kelly scored a late goal but it was a bitter dose of sugar-coating to an extremely willowy showing. Next up is a trip to Waterford on Saturday next were the Slaneysiders will hope to get back to winning ways.
