A huge crowd attended the 26th Caulfield's League blitz in the Geraldine O'Hanrahans grounds in New Ross on Sunday.

All of the teams were led out by the New Ross and District Pipe Band and, following the playing of Amhrán na bhFiann, the blitz began. The day was once again blessed with sunshine and everyone was treated to a tremendous display of hurling from all of the 16 teams which took part.

This event has grown to become the most prestigious Under-10 hurling blitz on the regional calendar. Thomas Caulfield and Pat Sinnott from Caulfield's SuperValu presented each of the 320 players with a specially-commissioned All-Ireland replica medal along with popular goodie bags.

Thomas thanked John Kehoe (Chairman, Coiste na nOg New Ross), as well as Billy Cullen and all the team in New Ross for once again facilitating the blitz and presenting the pitches in tremendous condition.

Michael Gannon was presented with one of the specially-commissioned medals and acknowledged for his tremendous commitment and work over the years in organising the blitz. The four referees were also thanked for the very important job that they do, namely Anthony Tobin, John Tobin, Jack Stafford and Seán O'Neill.
