A youthful Wexford side out-pointed hosts Tipperary in their National Camogie League Division 1 clash in Cloughjordan on Sunday afternoon to get their season off to the perfect start.
Wexford 0-13 Tipperary 0-9
The Slaneysiders missed out on playing their opening game when the tie with Clare was postponed last week but they still looked sharp despite not having game time in their legs.
Tipperary led 0-3 to 0-2 after seventeen minutes but, with Wexford getting on top in midfield, the visitors scored seven of the next eight points to take a 0-9 to 0-4 lead in at the interval.
Kehoe twins, Stacey and Shelley picked up a brace apiece in the first period, Linda Bolger added four dead-balls and Eimear O'Connor pointed as Wexford prospered.
The game swung back and forward in the second period but Tipperary could never get closer than when they closed to 0-11 to 0-8 behind after 44 minutes.
Wexford, with scores from Jackie Quigley, Shelley Kehoe, Shauna Sinnott and Bolger did enough to stay ahead to the final whistle and take the victory.
Next up for Wexford is the re-scheduled home clash with Clare which is set to take place on Saturday at a venue to be announced in the coming days.
