After months of filling out forms and talking about it at every club meeting, it has finally happened. The diggers are in and the start of the development has just commenced. We can now say when we are selling the tickets that it has started and will be up in no time.
Talking about tickets, it's the last week of the ticket sales. Would it be possible for every one to start to return their tickets and monies? They can be returned tonight (Wednesday) in Grantstown. Thank you for your co-operation on this matter. Times and details on the draw next week.
This Monday night the club's monthly meeting will take place in Tír Na nÓg at 9.30 p.m. All members are entitled to attend. Please note the time as people will be selling tickets.
Bingo this week is ¤750 and takes place in Carrig Hall at 8.30 p.m.
The Senior footballers were playing on Saturday last in Grantstown against Shelmaliers and were beaten by 1-11 to 0-5. Following this game the Juniors played Clongeen and won by 1-11 to 1-6.
Next week's fixtures: Saturday, Seniors v. Clongeen at 4.30 p.m., Grantstown; Sunday, Juniors v. Gusserane away at 4.30 p.m. Check sports pages for times and venues.
Wexford footballers had a nice win over Sligo on Sunday last in the Park. Well done Ben and Niall.
Membership is still due. You can still sign up to the Vodafone signyourgaaclub.ie. Any direct debit forms can still be handed into your bank or to Pauline.
Next week is St. Patrick's Day and the parade will be in Carrig. Our double winners of both boys and girls Under-14 will represent the club. All those involved will be contacted in the next week.
The draw for both football and hurling has taken place as follows - Senior football: Kilanerin, Adamstown, Glynn-Barntown; Junior football: Duffry Rovers, Gusserane, Starlights, St. Joseph's; Junior hurling: Gusserane, Shelmaliers, Our Lady's Island.
Please make sure that you have the right hurling helmet purchased. Under the G.A.A. Injury Scheme, Mycro, Marc and Azzurri are the only helmets insured.
