The dinner dance (and medal presentation) will take place on Saturday, March 13, in Hotel Curracloe. Tickets cost ¤25 per person and are available from any committee member or from Liam Buttle. All are welcome.
The Under-16 footballers were beaten by the Shamrocks last weekend. The Intermediate footballers were also beaten by Kilrush in the first round of the league. The Junior 'B' footballers had a win on Sunday last against St. Fintan's in the first round of the league by 1-7 to 1-6. The scorers were Joe Neville (1-2), Richie Curran and Dean Wright (0-2 each), James O'Donoghue (0-1).
A special congratulations to the O'Leary brothers, Eamonn who had a great game in the goal and the new grandfather Michael, who played a stormer in the full-forward position. The second round of the league will continue on Saturday next when the Intermediates will play at home at 3 p.m. while the Junior 'B' team will play at home also at 4.30 p.m. All support appreciated.
The Minor footballers will play in the first round of the championship on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Clongeen. Best of luck to all players next weekend.
The under-age registration day will be held this Saturday in the pitch between 2-4 p.m. All players are asked to register. Under-10 membership costs ¤10 while Over-10s cost ¤20. Players registering for the first time will need to bring their birth certs. Hurleys will be on sale.
Congratulations to Dean Wright who played midfield on the county Minor football squad on Saturday last away to Louth. They were narrowly beaten by two points.
A reminder that training for Minor and Juvenile hurling and football will take place on Sundays at 9.45 a.m. in the pitch. All players are asked to attend. Minor and Juvenile football training has also resumed and will continue every Wednesday between 8-9 p.m.
Senior training has also resumed and regular times have still to be decided upon. The championship group draws took place recently in both hurling and football. Blackwater were drawn in a group with Buffers Alley, Ferns and Cushinstown in the Senior hurling, while the Intermediate footballers were drawn in a group with Ballygarrett, Rosslare and St. Patrick's. No dates have yet been set for the championship.
A reminder to all that membership is overdue and can be paid to any committee member.
