The Minors bowed out of the O'loughlin Cup at the semi-final stage on Sunday last when they were beaten by Castletown in Páirc Charman on a 3-10 to 1-6 scoreline.

While the sides were level at half-time, and on two further occasions in the third quarter, the lads conceded 2-4 without reply in the last 18 minutes and could have no complaints with the outcome.

The sympathy of all club members is extended to the Fitzharris and Roice families on the death of Lar Fitzharris of Ballycullane which occurred on Thursday last.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to our Vice-president, Dan Harrington, who was hospitalised last week.

Membership is due and the charges are: family, €80; adult, €70; student/unemployed, €35; under-age: €35 for one child, €60 for two children in a family; €70 for three children in a family.

There was a good attendance at the A.G.M. of the club in Hotel Curracloe on Friday last where the following officers were elected: Patrons, Fr. Forde and Fr. Fitzpatrick; Presidents, Eileen O'leary, Seán Kelly, Peggie Kelly, John Furlong, Teresa Kehoe; Chairperson, Mick Lanigan; Vice-chairperson, Kate Kelly; Secretary, Sinéad Kelly; Assistant Secretaries, Ciara Donohoe and Therese Sheil; Treasurer, Mairéad Potter; Assistant Treasurer, Barry Hearne; P.R.O., Patricia Fielding; Assistant P.R.O., Kate Kelly; Children's Officer, Mick Lanigan; County Board delegates, Sinéad Kelly and Therese Sheil; Hollymount delegate, John Kelly; committee: Aine Donohoe, Kathleen Lacey, Peggie Kelly, Austin Hearne, Caroline Curran plus all team managers.

Membership was set as follows: adult players over 18, €50; Under-18: €20 for one player in family under-age; €30 for two players in family under-age; €40 for three players in family under-age; €50 for four players in family under-age; non-playing members, €30; €50 for family (parent plus Under-18 player(s)).

Indoor training is under way on Mondays in Hollymount, Under-10 from 6-7 p.m. and Under-12 and Rackard League from 7-8 p.m. Please bring runners, hurls and helmets, and €2 for lights. See you there!

Circuit training for all adult players continues in Hollymount this Wednesday from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m.

The club will hold a social night in Hotel Curracloe on Friday, February 10, at 7.30 p.m. It was a remarkable year for the club, winning the league and championship at Junior level for the first time since 1986, while capturing the Senior league for the first time since 2002 and the Clane sevens. Our Minor team also competed in the county final.

The meal will be served at 7.30 p.m., followed by the medal presentation and live music. Tickets cost €10, and are available from all committee members and team managers.

ST. MARTIN'S

The A.G.M. of the camogie club took place on Friday last. There were a large number in attendance.

Máire O'connor (Chairperson) welcomed everyone and the minutes of last year's A.G.M. were read, approved and adopted. The Chairperson's report was very comprehensive and she congratulated all age groups on what was a very successful year for the club.

Máire thanked all parents and selectors for the help they gave during the year. We are in the lucky positiion of having huge numbers of people willing to get involved with teams from Under-8 right up to Senior.

Susie Maddock stepped down from her position as Secretary after serving for eleven years, and Sinéad Dempsey retired as Treasurer after a mere ten years!

The new officers for the incoming year are: Chairperson, Máire O'connor; Secretary, Tracy Browne; Treasurer, Jackie Dempsey; P.R.O., Barbara Ryan. We wish them all the best for the coming year.

Coiste na nog are running a fundraising table quiz on Thursday, February 16, at 8.30 p.m. Teams of four adults €40, teams of students €20.

Please come along and support this venture as the club needs money as we head into the new season.

CLONARD

Under-age indoor training continues for the Under-6 and Under-8 teams in St. Peter's College sports complex on Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. (Mary Kavanagh 087-9967925/James Nolan 089-4282852).

Indoor training for Under-10 and Under-12 takes place in Clonard Community Centre on Friday from 7-8 p.m. (P.J. Curran 0863026348/Mick Lyng 087-2953141), and for Under-14 and Under-16 on Tuesday in St. Peter's College from 8-9 p.m. (Dean Murray 087-2406409/Tommy Hynes 086-8653051).

The club welcomes new members to learn and develop skills at all under-age levels. Please feel free to contact any coach for more information.

Coiste na nóg held a club social night on Friday week last in Clonard Community Centre. The night was a huge success for all involved. Team mentors, parents and over 120 children from the club's Under-6 to Under-12 teams enjoyed the night's entertainment which included a puppet show and disco.

On Sunday last our Under-17 footballers played Taghmon in the Martin Cullen Cup and, despite dominating the second-half, lost out on a score of 1-8 to 1-5. Tommy Walsh kicked some excellent scores while Stephen Cullen in goal pulled off some fine saves throughout. Well done to all concerned and hopefully with some hard work and commitment in the coming year, the lads will enjoy the success they deserve.

Adult and Minor football/hurling pre-season training takes place every Friday in Mick Kelly's gym, Westpoint, at 9 p.m. and Saturday in Wexford racecourse at 11 a.m.

ST. JOSEPH'S

After a break of almost 15 years, St. Joseph's have re-established an under-age section in our club. Following on from a successful registration day, the club is now in a position to field teams at Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12.

The club will also be establishing a nursery for four to six year-olds. Our club is open to both boys and girls. Anyone seeking any further information on our under-age section, please contact Wayne Rogan (087-2819024) or Thomas Roche (086-4005687).

Training for our Under-10 and -12 teams commences this Wednesday, February 8, at 6 p.m. in St. Joseph's Community Centre.

Due to the increase in the number of adult players, we have decided to enter two adult teams in both the league and the championship. Training for adult players continues every Wednesday at 6.30 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mick Kelly's gym at Westpoint.

Membership for the year is €40 and must be paid up before the first championship game. There is a committee meeting this Thursday, Febuary 9, at 7 p.m. in the club.

CROSSABEG-BALLYMURN

There was no winner of last week's lotto jackpot, while there were two match three winners - Conor Bernard and Miriam Sherlock. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 10 and 23. This week's jackpot is €11,200.

Memberships for 2012 are now due. Players €80, non-playing members and team mentors €40.

The Crossabeg-ballymurn G.A.A. club dinner dance takes place on Saturday, February 18, at 8 p.m. in Ferrycarrig Hotel. The Junior 'B' footballers will be presented with countywinning medals. Admission is €20. Tickets are now on sale from any committee member.

FAYTHE HARRIERS

Under-8s: Anybody interested in joining this group is welcome to attend St. Joseph's club on Saturdays at 11 a.m. or contact Justin Browne (087-2190343).

Under-10s: Training for our Under-10s continues indoors in St. Peter's College Sports Complex on Mondays from 6-7 p.m. and Fridays outdoor on our all-weather arena in Páirc Charman, also from 6-7 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the Under-10s should contact Seán Murphy (087-2069450).

Under-12s: Training for our Under-12s continues on Mondays from 7-8 p.m. on our allweather arena and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. Anyone interested in joining should contact Richard Murphy (087-6680630).

Under-14s: Our Under-14s have also returned to training on Sundays at 10.30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 8-9 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the Under-14 squad should contact Pat Henebery (087-2609958).

Camogie: Selectors appointed to our Under-12s include Michelle Murphy, Peter Kavanagh, Lucia Rush, Martin Rush and Nicky Keeling. Under-14 camogie see Anthony Butler and Niamh Butler, while the Under-8 and Under-10 camogie players will train with the relevant hurling squads for the moment. Currently our camogie teams train on Mondays at 6 p.m. on our all-weather pitch. Any girl that's interested in playing camogie should head out to Páirc Charman on Monday nights.

Some of our under-age teams still require additional assistance. Anyone interested in helping out should contact Justin Browne (087-2190343). We will be organising foundation level coaching courses in the coming weeks for all our new coaches.

Membership is also due for the 2012 season - €50 for adult players, €30 for unemployed players and students, €30 for non-playing members, €20 for under-age players, €60 for family membership, €40 for unemployed family membership. It is important that all membership payments are made before March 31.

Lotto results for January 29 were 4, 20, 27 and 29. There was no winner of our jackpot and it currently stands at €6,600.

BANNOW-BALLYMITTY

Bingo will be on this Saturday in Carrig Hall starting at 8.30 p.m.

Well done to Ben and Niall on their first league match in Wexford Park against Cavan. On Sunday next they travel to Sligo with a throw-in at 2.30 p.m.

Training has started over the last week in Grantstown in all age groups. Good luck to all in the 2012 season.

The camogie club will host their registration night in the complex this Friday from 7.30 until 9 p.m.

ST. MARY'S (M'TOWN)

Congratulations to Craanford who won our G.A.A. table quiz in the Drinagh Court Hotel last week with a fantastic score of 96. Buffers Alley were the runners-up with Ferns in third place. The club would like to thank everyone who entered teams and also a big thank you to Trevor Doocey for organising the event.

Training continues for our under-age teams this week with the following being the times and venues: Under-6/8 will train in the Presentation on Monday at 6.45 p.m.; Under-10 will train in The Faythe school on Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Under-12 will train in The Faythe school on Thursday at 7 p.m.; Under-16 will train in The Faythe school on Tuesday at 6.45 p.m. If anyone has any queries on training or if your son or daughter would like to register with the club, please contact Trevor Doocey on 0868140124.

The draw for our trip to Cheltenham will take place next week. Tickets are still on sale, so if you would like to be in with a chance to win this fantastic prize, please contact any club member to purchase a ticket. Tickets are priced at €3 or two for €5.

ST. JOHN'S VOLUNTEERS

Last week's club lotto numbers were 8, 9, 13 and 18. There was no winner, and three match three winners - Lorraine Carthy Busher, Mick Farrell and Pat Roche. The next draw takes place in Mcgee's Bar on Sunday, February 12, with a jackpot of €3,550.

We were delighted with the turn-out to the launch of our five-year plan in Whites Hotel on Wednesday night last.

We were very fortunate to secure the attendance of G.A.A. President Christy Cooney, and Lord Mayor Davy Hynes. Other speaker's included Jim Mccarthy, club Chairman, Micheál Martin, and Aidan Roche who was M.C.

The club would like to extend its gratitude to Ger Carthy from Our Lady's Island who made the very fitting presentation of a county medal dating back to 1895 to our own Tony Furlong to be included in his extensive list of memorabilia.

We would like to thank Christy Cooney, the members of the club and the members of the public for their attendance.
