COOLGREANY CELTIC had to battle all the way to overcome Duncannon in the quarter-finals of the Michelle Coleman Cup and eventually went through 2-1.

Alison Tubrid scored for Duncannon while Martina Walsh hit back twice for the home side.

St. Cormac's took the lead in New Ross courtesy of an Amy Walsh header, but Marcella Cullen scored for Celtic to bring the game to extra-time and eventually penalties where Amy crowned off a good day by scoring the winner.

St. Joseph's beat Bunclody in what was another tight match full of incident, with Yvonne O'Sullivan saving a penalty for St. Joseph's while Laura Warren scored twice for the Kilmuckridge side.

Celine Slye scored late in the game for Bunclody but it was not enough as St. Joseph's held on to go through to the last four.
