The Faythe Harriers will launch our third annual Pikeman Challenge on Friday next, March 12, in Wexford Credit Union at 7 p.m. The event will consist of an 80-kilometre walk over three days over the weekend of Friday, June 4, to Sunday, June 6.
All those participating in the event, anyone with an interest in it, all club members and parents of all our under-age members are invited to attend.
The Pikeman Challenge has been a fantastic fundraiser for the past two years for the club and has helped us in no small way to develop the facilities that we now have in Páirc Charman.
The event has been a fantastic success for the past two years and this year we are hoping to make it more successful than ever.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the full three-day walk, or even to walk on one of the days is encouraged to attend the launch.

Indoor training for all adult members, from Senior, Junior, Under-21 and down to Minor, continues this week on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
Training is in the form of circuit training, so anyone training should ensure they wear runners. Adult training also continues every Sunday in Páirc Charman at 10.30 a.m. sharp.

The All-County Hurling Leagues are due to commence on the weekend after next. Fixtures were not available at the time of writing but should be made known within the next few days.
All players are reminded that they must have their membership paid before they play in the ACHL.
The club's new state of the art, all-weather floodlit arena is open for business and is now available for bookings. Anybody interested in booking an hour on the arena should contact any of the club officers or ring 085-2450136.
A number of slots are still available every week. The arena is approximately 80 metres by 40 metres and is available for hire for full pitch length or for smaller groups in smaller areas going across the arena.
At this stage all our under-age teams have now returned to training on our new allweather arena.

Our Juvenile team will be the first club team to return to championship action in 2010, when they play Monageer on Sunday, March 21, in the first round of the championship.
The Minor team will be in action the following weekend on Sunday, March 28, when we host the Shelmaliers in Páirc Charman.
The club has an extensive range of playing and replica gear available for purchase including club tracksuits, club jerseys, gearbags, shorts, socks and other items. Anybody interested in purchasing any items should contact Ann Slaven at 0868245166.
The club would like to express its condolences to the family of Tony Bergin who recently passed away.
Tony was a member of the Faythe Harriers team which won the county hurling and football Senior double in 1960.
Last October Tony and a large number of his family members attended our 60th anniversary celebrations. May he rest in peace.
