Walsh goal vital

Wednesday March 17 2010

ARKLOW UNITED and Rosslare Rangers played out a very tight Boland Carpets Cup match before a Sarah Walsh goal broke the deadlock to put Rangers in the semi-final.

Arklow did what they could to try to get the equaliser, but Rangers held on for their place in the last four.

Forth Celtic also did enough to guarantee their place in the semi-finals when travelling to Castledockrell and coming away 4-2 winners.

Caitríona Nolan and Kelly Ann Murphy scored for the home side while Tina Bergin, Ashling Barry, Ciara Rossiter and Vicky Waters all hit the target for Celtic.

Corach Ramblers and Ferns United had to be postponed as an incident in the first match on the pitch put all the games back 90 minutes.
