The early risers got the best part of the day for golf before the rain started. Congratulations Margie on a great score and well done to lady Captain Marie and Georgina on coming second and third.

There was a great turn-out for the club outing to Bunclody Golf Club on Saturday last. The weather was perfect and the golfers enjoyed the course, views and meal afterwards.

The club A.G.M. will take place on Saturday, October 27, in the clubhouse.

The winners of the Pink Ball competition were Martina Gately (20), Ann Conway (33) and Theresa Morris (23), 33. Well done to all the prize-winners.

Next Thursday's (October 18) competition is 16 holes stableford, which will comprise of a golf/pool/darts triathlon. Kick-off for the darts and pool is 6 p.m.

The closing date for the winter league matchplay has been extended to October 18. Lastly, the Captain's dinner will be held in the clubhouse on October 26 at 8 p.m. It promises to be a great night.

It was a gorgeous Autumn day in ideal conditions for golf, and the course is in great condition. Well done to our winners.

Sunday, October 14, open singles stableford, white tees (C.S.S.: 72): 1, Pádraig Bail, 43 points; 2, Niall Ellard, 40; 3, Patrick O'Connor (visitor), 39.

There was a full timesheet and good scoring despite the cool conditions throughout and showery rain in the afternoon. Well done to our winners for returning such excellent scores.

The annual club outing also took place on Sunday, organised by last year's Captains Tom and Georgina. A large group of members made the trip to Bunclody G.C. and had a thoroughly enjoyable day, with the traditional fun shenanigans on the bus to and from the venue.
