Adrienne Boggan from Carne Riding Club has just been honoured with the 2015 Lancelot Award by the Association of Irish Riding Clubs.

This award is made annually by the Association of Irish Riding Clubs to recognise the sterling efforts of its members who regularly go beyond the call of duty in organising or helping at club, regional or national level.

Despite heavy family commitments Adrienne still manages to attend regular meetings, help organise events and help set up courses. In addition she has full charge of the club Facebook page and it is fair to say that Carne Riding Club would be lost without her.

The club, as an organisation, is no stranger to success. In 2007, and again in 2009, Carne was awarded club of the year, and in 2013 Tracey Rooney was awarded club Secretary of the year.

In 2014 the club was one of only four in the country to win the A.I.R.C. gold standard in the club excellence awards. In 2015, Carne was the only club ever to have back-to-back wins in the national one-day event competition in Kilguikey House in north Cork.

Already in 2016 the club is off to a flying start in the Regional Dressage League.

All of the four members that travelled to Carlow were placed in their competitons, with Ian Grace winning the Open, Melanie Hammel winning the Advanced Intermediate, Nessa Sullivan coming fourth in the Intermediate, and Anne Clune winning the Advanced Primary.
