Wexford boxers Dean Walsh and Adam Nolan are through to the quarter-finals at the inaugural European Games in Baku.
Nolan was delighted with his showing in his opening two fights, setting him up for the last eight and joining nine Irish boxers who have made it through to this stage of the championships.
In his opening contest, the Bray-based boxer gained a comfortable 3-0 victory over Alban Bequri (Albania), while he continued his impressive form in the last 16, disposing of the experienced Italian Dario Morello after winning over all three judges.
St. Joseph's/St. Ibar's welterweight Walsh survived a first round standing count to go on and take a split decision win over Maxim Dadashev from Russia.
He will now face Kastriot Sopa from Germany in the quarter-finals. Both boxers will be in action again today (Tuesday).
