Claytarget Sports Wexford held a 30-target sporting shoot at its grounds near Ferrycarrig on Sunday last. Conditions were near ideal with good sunshine and relatively light winds.
The course consisted of three stands of five pairs on report and was on the more difficult side than normal, with this reflected in slightly lower scoring.
Top shooter on the day and Irish FITASC international hopeful, Bob Power, carded a 25. Hot on his heels were Jack Kelly and Kevin Clayton with scores of 24 and 23.
Good performances came from Billy Murray and current county novice champion, John Murray. One lady shooter, Denise Jackman, showed great potential and is a name that we are sure will be cropping up again.
The club is hosting a 50-target sporting and 25 DTL competition on Sunday, March 14. Starting time 2 p.m., with 4.30 p.m. last entry. This is an open competition and all are welcome. Queries to 053-9122841.
