Colliers family to the fore in finals

The Division 3 singles and doubles was held in Ferns on Tuesday.

Division 3 singles final: Gavin Collier (Doran's Bridge) beat Myles Collier (Doran's Bridge), 21-11.

Division 3 doubles: Gavin Collier and Ian Collier (Doran's Bridge) beat Myles Collier and John Kehoe (Doran's Bridge), 21-14.

It was an impressive double for Gavin Collier, and a good night for the family in general.

Well done to everyone.

The Division 2 singles was held on Thursday in Ferns.

Semi-finals: Paul Farnan (Vinegar Hill) beat Willie Flynn (Monart), 21-8; John McKeown (Vinegar Hill) beat Arty Roberts (Vinegar Hill), 21-14.

Final: John McKeown beat Paul Farnan, 21-18.

The final was a real cracker between the Vinegar Hill men - a great achievment for the Enniscorthy club.

The Thomas Doyle Memorial open doubles was held in Ferns on Sunday. A total of 30 players took part.

Semi-finals: Paddy Connors (Woodsmen) and Wally Dempsey (Monart) beat Jim Lennon (McCrea's) and John Doyle Jnr. (Doran's Bridge), 21-4; Seán Doyle (Curracloe) and Billy Larkin (Monart) beat Denis Larkin Snr. (Monart) and Jim Cogley (McCrea's), 21-7.

Final: Paddy Connors and Wally Dempsey beat Seán Doyle and Billy Larkin, 21-11.

Well done to all who took part, and special mention to the winners who were throwing the best - a very strong partnership.
