The I.D.F.P.A. (Irish Drug Free Powerlifting Association) national full power powerlifting championships took place in the Redcow Moran Hotel in Dublin recently, with 330 powerlifters competing over the two days.

Barry Browne from Foulksmills came home with an All-Ireland title, winning the -90 kgs. M1 category.

Barry lifted 185 kgs. in the squat, 140 kgs. in the bench press, and 220 kgs. in the deadlift, giving him a total of 545 kgs. in the three lifts.

Barry needed to total 520 kgs. to qualify for the world championships which will be held in Killarney next September.
