Wednesday, May 13, 3Ts charity 18-hole stableford sponsored by New Ross Credit Union. There will also be a Seniors' prize. Draw times are 10 to 10.15 a.m. and 2 to 2.15 p.m. A timesheet will also be in operation.
Wednesday, May 20, men's Captain's prize to the ladies, 18-hole stroke (medal and gross). To be eligible to win you must have submitted three 18-hole competition cards for this year in the club.
The nine-hole re-entry competition continues.
There will be a presentation on Wednesday, May 13, at 9 p.m. for all prizes to date. Prize-winners are kindly asked to attend.

A total of 64 ladies played in this competition. After a dreadful wet Saturday and a night of rain, the course was in great condition thanks to the hard work of Jake and his crew.
Later in the evening Ger Cashman (President) presented his beautiful prices to the ladies. Congratulations to all the prize-winners.

Hard luck to our Minor Cup team which lost out to Enniscorthy in Faithlegg on Wednesday, May 6. The team was: Denise Dunne (lady Vice-Captain), Patricia Boyd, Mary O'Leary (lady President), Eithne Walsh and Madge Murphy. Sub. - Marie Connell. Team manager was Therese Glasheen for Helen Kinsella.
Unfortunately, our Challenge Cup team went down to Tulfarris in Coollattin on Wednesday, May 6. The team was: Tressa O'Connor, Deirdre Greer, Pat Flanagan, Mary Lambert and Kathleen Rossiter. Sub. - Brenda O'Brien. Team manager was Breda Devoy.
Our Senior Cup team was unlucky on Saturday, May 10, in Woodenbridge when they lost out to The Heath. The team out was: Ruth Kennedy, Helen Lacey, Tara Dunne, Linda Friel and Margaret Atkinson.
Hard luck ladies, you were all great ambassadors and many thanks for the time you all gave up to represent the club.
Best of luck to our Finn Trophy Team which plays Coollattin in Wexford on Tuesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. Supporters are always welcome.
Thursday, May 14, is an 18-hole v. par competition sponsored by Martin's Jewellers.
The first sponsored competition of the year took place on the Bank holiday weekend when Kelly's Resort Hotel sponsored the singles on Sunday. Weatherwise, it was a bad weekend with Saturday completely washed out.
The winner with 40 points was one of the young guns, Nathan O'Brien. Nathan (9) had double bogeys on the third and fourth to turn in 17 points.
However, on the way home he really turned it on with birdies on the 12th and 18th and only one dropped shot at the 17th for 23 points and a one-point win over Ciarán Frost (4) who had birdies at the third, 12th, 17th and 18th in halves of 17 and 22.
Third on 39 points was Con Murphy (12) with Colm Waldron (17) fourth on 38 points. Fourteen-year-old John Brady (2) won the gross. He had birdies at the third, ninth and 18th in a one over par 73. John Bourke (11) won the veterans with 37 points. Bill Kelly presented the prizes.

Well done to Paul Murphy who finished second in the Cork Scratch Cup, two shots behind the winner. He had rounds of 73 and 68.
Gary Collins competed in the Lytham Trophy in England but missed the cut by two shots. He had rounds of 73 and 80.
On Sunday the 36-hole Top Golfer-sponsored Junior Scratch Cup takes place.
There is an open ladies' and gents' singles every Wednesday. Visitors: €25.

There's a great buzz around St. Helen's Bay these days. Shouts of 'fore' mingled with peals of laughter fill the air - the golfing season is upon us.
Well done to all the winners, with a special mention to our President, Pat, who played steady, controlled golf in blustery conditions to claim the PGA Tankard.
