Good night for Brandon Frayne

There was a very big crowd in attendance for the last night of the year and despite the weather it was a very enjoyable night's racing with some good performances recorded.
It was a very good night for Wexford owner Brendon Frayne as he enjoyed a very nice double when his 'Seldom Fed' took race four in 29.33, while he had the honour of winning the last race of 2015 when 'Babbie Helen' was sent off even money favourite and she duly obliged from her trap one draw to record her eight race win in a good 31.78.
Enniscorthy trainer John Kavanagh also enjoyed a fine double when 'Metric Sandy' raced to a good win in race seven while 'Salmon Lad' recorded his 16th career win when taking race nine.
The James Flynn owned 'Rathbally Titan' also put in a fine performance in race eight, an A3 575.
Rathbally led up and ran right away to show a clean set of paws to the remainder to score by eight lengths in a very good 31.78.
The 2016 season will get underway on February 11, weather permitting.
There is supposed to be a prize money increase. We can only hope as trust in the IGB is at an all time low. 2016 could well prove a pivotal time for greyhound racing in Ireland if something is not done to rectify the imbalances in the sport.
