Leacy on paralympics squad

Podge Leacy from Ferns is the sole Wexford representative on the 56-strong Paralympics Ireland athlete panel named last week.
Leacy is a member of the seven-a-side football squad, with the announcement of the participants timed to coincide with the launch of the new 'More Than Sport' campaign.
This features a number of athletes from the panel and is a massive drive by Paralympics Ireland to raise vital and necessary funds for the road to Rio 2016 to supplement recent Government funding that was allocated towards the cost of the Games and the Performance Programme.
'More Than Sport' itself will be the vessel through which athletes' own stories will be told. In essence, it will be a behind-the-scenes look into life as an elite Irish athlete, their training, their dedication and above all, what motivates them. The campaign also asks the public to get behind these athletes by texting PARA to 50300 to donate €4.
