OULART'S Adam Nolan now boxing out of the Bray club enhances his chances of Olympic qualification with a first round victory in the AIBA Olympic Qualifiers in Turkey yesterday afternoon, writes Brendan Furlong.
Nolan survived a knock-down in the final round in his clash with Tomasz Kot of Poland to claim victory on a 14-9 margin.
Nolan was in charge early on, leading 7-4 after the first round, before extending that to 11-6 at the end of the second round.
Knowing that he needed to make a major impact in the final round, Kot went on the front foot and caught Nolan with a big shot, forcing him to take a count in the first few seconds of the third.
