Nora takes over as Secretary
THE LATEST County Board meeting of Athletics Wexford was held in Donohoe's of Enniscorthy on Tuesday of last week, and Nora Muldoon was elected as new county Secretary.

The county Masters and Novices road races will be held in Kilmore village on Sunday, March 14. The ladies' races will be first off at 11 a.m., with both Masters and Novices racing over 3km, while the Masters and Novices races for men will follow over 6km.
The Leinster Senior road race will be hosted by Bree A.C. and will be held in Galbally, Enniscorthy, on Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. Entries can be made on the day: ¤5 for individuals, ¤15 for a club team and ¤20 for a county team. The county Senior road races will be held on Good Friday (April 2). Slaney Olympic will host the championship races, with the venue being the Old Dublin Road in Enniscorthy.
Distances are 5km for the ladies and 10km for the men, with the women first off at 5.30 p.m.
The Wexford half-marathon that will be held on Sunday, May 2, is to have a county championship incorporated into it. There will be county medals on offer for the first three individuals, with teams of three also down for decision. More details closer to the event.
The county track and field championships have been fixed for Monday, May 3, and Sunday, May 9, at venues to be decided.
The county track and field 'B' championships have provisionally been set for June 4, to be hosted by St. Paul's, but this date could be subject to change.
The next meeting of Athletics Wexford will take place some time in mid-April, at a venue to be confirmed.
The Dungarvan 10km road race was held on Sunday morning last and there were Wexford athletes competing in the race organised by West Waterford A.C. Niall Sheil (St. Killian's A.C.) had a good run to finish sixth in a time of 35.12.
Seán Murphy (United Striders) was next in 22nd place in 37.40. Ger Doyle (Slaney Olympic) was next in 25th place in 37.44, while Mary Doyle (Slaney Olympic) ran 47.00.
