Point-to-point called off

The Turf Club announced on Saturday that the Shillelagh Hunt point-to-point fixture due to take place at Fairwood, Tinahely, on Sunday was postponed due to ground conditions; the meeting has been re-fixed for next Sunday (January 17). Original entries for this fixture will stand.

The United Hunt Lisgoold fixture at Templencarriga in Cork was also called off due to waterlogging. It will now take place on this Saturday, January 16, with fresh entries closing at 12 noon today (Tuesday).

No point-to-point racing has taken place anywhere in Ireland since mid-December, and unless the weather improves the new arrangements cannot be regarded as certain. Supporters should keep an eye on Turf Club announcements on Friday and Saturday.
