Second night of Mr Oil Senior championships to take place on Wednesday

The second night of the Mr Oil Senior track and field championships takes place tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1) on the track at Enniscorthy Sports Hub from 7pm sharp.

Six of the athletes who competed on the new track at the first leg of the Senior county championships, held last week, have since been announced on Irish teams for international championships!

Phil Healy (coached by Shane McCormack of Menapians) has been called up for the European Under-23 championship squad for the 100m.

Michael Bowler is one of three Irish athletes called up to compete in the European Cup combined events.

Ryan Carthy-Walsh gets the A.A.I. nomination for the EYOF high jump and awaits confirmation of selection from the Irish Olympic Council. He has also been selected for the schools international in Scotland.

David McDonald is off to the schools international in Scotland (sprints), and Chloe Whelan also makes the trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks (300m hurdles).

Sophie McCabe (triple jump) is also on the panel for the schools international in Scotland.
