Wexford Stages Rally will take place on the weekend of September 12 and 13 and is again sponsored this year by the Riverbank House Hotel.

The rally will consist of six stages each day, with two stages on each day repeated three times.

The first day will have its service area in the mart in Enniscorthy, with the stages kept in that area to keep the road miles between stages to a minimum. These two stages will be in the Castledockrell and Wilton areas.

The second day will see the rally move further south in the county and the service area will be on the old Wexford/New Ross road near Camross. The stages will be in Raheen and Newbawn areas. As usual, the rally H.Q. will be in the Riverbank House Hotel with parc ferme and scrutiny close by.

Wexford Motor Club has formed a sub-committee this year to take all the business side of the rally in its hands to allow Pat O'Dowd, clerk of the course for the rally, concentrate more on the planning of the stages and also concentrate on the weekend itself.

The sub-committee, headed by Graham Scallan, will concentrate on the like of managing the entries, rally programmes, sponsorship, etc.

At the time of writing, the entry list was nearing a full field of 131 crews. There is quite a healthy list of entries from Great Britain, headed by defending champion, Damian Cole.

The Motor Club expect a full field of entries to leave rally H.Q. on the first morning. The entry fee is €599.

The Junior rally, with an entry fee of €350, will compete on Sunday's six stages and there is quite a healthy field forming with three weeks to go for the event.

As in previous years, the club website - www.wexfordmotorclub.ie - will be updated with results via the live timing system used for the weekend, as will the club Facebook and Twitter feeds.
