Poc Fada in JFK park

The coaching and games development employees of Wexford G.A.A. County Board have chosen a picturesque location for the annual Poc Fada event.

The John F. Kennedy Arboretum just outside New Ross is the venue for the long puck which will take place on Saturday, June 20.

Wexford will be sending representatives in the Under-16 and adult categories to compete in the Leinster finals which are down for decision on July 11.

Each club may send no more than two representatives in each category. The Under-16 competition will start at 11 a.m. with the adult competition commencing at 12 noon this coming Saturday.

Further information may be obtained from Shane O'Hanlon on 087-9898059 or shane.ohanlon.gda.wexford@gaa.ie

Hopefully this will be the first stepping stone for some local contestants to ultimately contest the All-Ireland Poc Fada which is traditionally held on the Cooley Peninsula over the August bank holiday weekend.
