Leinster to visit Wexford in August
Wednesday June 23 2010
GORDON D'ARCY will return to where it all began when the Leinster rugby squad will take in a five-day pre-season training session in Park Lane in August. With a new coach and management team at the helm for the 2010-'11 season, Leinster will begin their preparations with a visit to the Model county where they will enjoy topclass facilities at Park Lane, while they will be based in Whites Hotel. The squad will also utilise Curracloe beach for training purposes, particularly the sand dunes which will be part of their endurance tests.
The Leinster squad have always been anxious to utilise the club facilities available to them, while they are also particularly conscious of spreading the rugby gospel among the rural population, where the game is growing in popularity.
Noel Ferguson, Youth Development Officer, Leinster Branch, will announce more details of the visit next month.
Meanwhile, the Leinster summer camps will take place at three different venues in July, catering for boys and girls from 612 years.
Sponsored by Centra once again, places are still available for Wexford from July 5 to 9 which will be held at Wexford Wanderers Rugby Club in Park Lane; Gorey in the local Rugby Club from July 1923, and New Ross Rugby Club, July 19-23.
Applications can be made online. One can visit www.leinsterrugby.ie or contact camp manager, Noel Fergusion, on 0872035026.
This year one will see an ever-improving programme, with the official Leinster summer camp pack available to participants.
