Local rivals to lock horns
THE SECOND round draw for the Newstalk Provincial Towns Cup has brought together a mouth-watering local derby clash involving Wexford Wanderers and Enniscorthy.
Enniscorthy, who are performing consistently in Division 1 of the Leinster Junior League, will travel to Park Lane as warm favourites to dismiss the challenge of Wexford Wanderers, who themselves are pushing hard in Division 3.
Enniscorthy have a proud cup record and, given their league form, will be one of the sides to look out for, but they still will not be taking the Wexford town side for granted.
New Ross have been given a huge home fixture with Mullingar which should whet the appetites of local rugby followers.
Wicklow should advance to the third round having been paired at home with Clondalkin, while Arklow face a daunting away challenge in Tullamore.
Tullow, renowned cup fighters, have an attractive home game with holders Boyne.
Second round draw: Tullamore v. Arklow; Wicklow v. Clondalkin; New Ross v. Mullingar; Cill Dara v. Athy; Tullow v. Boyne; Newbridge v. Portlaoise; Dundalk v. Longford; Wexford Wanderers v. Enniscorthy.
