Resounding success
WANDERERS Under-15s advanced in their Leinster McAuley Cup with a resounding victory over Rathdrum at Park Lane on Saturday morning last.
Straight from the kick-off Wanderers were on the attack and John Gannon finished off a flowing move in the corner.
This was quickly followed with further tries by Rúairí Devereux (two) and Collie Joyce-Ahearne, with Eoin Roche adding two conversions. Wexford led 24-0 at the break.
With Rathdrum spirits in tatters, Wanderers turned the screw, and seven tries by Eoin Roche, Nick Jones, Steve Roche (two), David Purcell, Eoin Blake and Josh Healy certainly finished off this non-contest.
Eoin Roche kicked five of those conversions to leave Wexford with their biggest tally of the season, 69-0.
This was an exceptional show from the young guns but they can expect a more searching test in the next round as their glory quest continues.
