Wanderers show too much respect to Carlow
Wednesday February 17 2010
THE WEXFORD Wanderers Under-17s gave too much respect to Carlow, who were in the Premier Leinster final last week, and found themselves 14-0 down after 10 minutes of this cup tie.
For the remainder of the first-half, Wexford were well in contention and dominated the possession and territory but were unable to breach a strong Carlow defence. James Roche, Dan French, Glen Murphy and Johnny Craiciun all carried the ball well.
Wexford attacked for a large period of the second-half but still could not make the breakthrough. Carlow managed two late scores to wrap this up.
It gave Wexford a taste of Premier Division opposition, and with a few better decisions and a greater belief, then this scoreline would have been a lot different.
