Ross Celtic off to flyer
CHAMPIONS NEW Ross Celtic got their campaign of to a winning start by overcoming Forth Celtic in a real goal-fest in Murrintown on Sunday. The teams attacked at every opportunity, which was reflected in the 7-4 scoreline at the finish. Ross Celtic got on the scoresheet through an own goal, Michael Grangel, Seán Culleton, Damien 'Fee' Cullen, substitute Mark Lee (2) and debutant Dylan Murphy, while a gallant Forth Celtic side replied through Paul Cowman, Ciarán Redmond (2) and Kevin Price (penalty).

JACK DEMPSEY was the hat-trick hero for Shamrock Rovers as they overcame Corach Ramblers 5-2 on Sunday.

FASTNET ROVERS picked up three points on the opening day with a 2-1 over St. Leonards. Seán Kehoe and Declan Colfer got the goals for Fastnet, with Barry Downes replying for Leonards.

NEWCOMERS ROSBERCON got off to the perfect start, netting a magnificent seven in their opening day win over Curracloe. Louis O'Neill and Johnny Hanley netted doubles, with man of the match Paudie Murphy, Liam Donnelly and Michael Dowling adding a goal apiece.

WEXFORD BOHS made a positive start to the season, winning 4-1 in Ferns with goals from Jay Roche (2), Derek Murphy and Ciarán Walsh.
