A night of celebrations in store at Ferrycarrig Park
It promises to be a night of celebration at Ferrycarrig Park tonight as First Division champions Wexford Youths are presented with the league trophy.
The newly-crowned champions welcome play-off chasing Shelbourne to Ferrycarrig Park in their final home game of the SSE Airtricity First Division. In what is likely to be a party atmosphere in Ferycarrig Park, manager Shane Keegan is in nostalgic mood in his programme notes.
'I'd be here all night if I went about thanking everybody that's played a role individually so I'll just sum it up by saying to the players, coaching staff, Nigel and Ravi, Seanie O'Shea, the committee and you the supporters, thank you all so much for the contributions you have all made to a year that I will remember for the rest of my life.
'Finally a thank you to Mick. His passion for this club is incredible. He has given me the time and space to go about doing my job that other managers would envy. He's a man of principle in life and in sport and I'm delighted to have been able to give him some return for the faith he has shown in me. Thanks Mick.'
Youths go into this game without Aidan Keenan who is at a family wedding and the starting team is likely to be rotated giving more game time to those who haven't seen much this season.
Demand for this game is high and the club are advising those who can to buy tickets in Hores Stores in Wexford Town while the club's ticket office will be open from 6.30pm.
There will be a pre-match concert taking place from 7pm with Soul Trek and the Funk Generation, followed by the Supporters Club Awards night in the clubhouse from 10pm.
