Cushinstown on song against Ferns

CUSHINSTOWN AGAIN illustrated their title credentials on Sunday with a 3-1 win in Ferns.

The hosts led 1-0 approaching the interval but Nicky Sinnott levelled matters from the penalty spot on the stroke of halftime. Sinnott then gave Cushinstown the lead with a towering header before James Whelan made sure of the three points with a fine goal.

Bunclody ran out comfortable 5-0 winners in Fethard with goals from Severin Gadzina (2), Chris Kelly, Michael Murphy and John Breen, while Wexford Bohs also hit five, beating New Ross Celtic 5-1, with Daryl Margolin netting a hat-trick and Ciaran Walsh adding a double.

Orrill United overcame Fastnet Rovers 3-2 with Chris McKeown netting a double and Ed Cahill adding their other goal, while Shamrock Rovers won 2-1 away to Rosslare Strand.
