Easy for Benfica
BENFICA PROVED too strong for relegationthreatened North End United in the Premier Division and knocked in eight without reply.
Keeley Claydon scored a hat-trick, with Maria Delahunty adding two and Stephanie Hallahan, Lisa Dower and Becky Conroy also on target. This win moves the Waterford side into second and they are well in touch with leaders Ferns.
Indeed, the clash of the two big-hitters on Sunday next will go a long way towards determining the outcome of the title.
While Benfica have to travel to Ferns, they have two games in hand on their keen rivals and could do themselves a huge favour by forging a victory.
With the county camogie team in action on Saturday, Ferns are likely to be at full strength and this will be a huge boost to their prospects of victory.
Curracloe killed off Kilmore's chances of taking the title when a rapidly-improving side beat them 5-1. Laura Corrigan and Tara Moloney scored two each, with Aoife Sheil also on target, while Leanne O'Reilly scored for the visitors.
Curracloe's Kim Moloney and Kilmore's Katrina Parrock picked up nasty head injuries in this match, and both sides would like to wish the players a speedy recovery.
