Wexford will have a strong representation at the European Universities Games in Croatia in July after Waterford I.T. won the C.U.F.L. national futsal finals on Wednesday.

The eleven-man squad included three Wexford natives - Ben Duffy, Ian Sinnott and Jason Goodison - as well as boasting a few other local connections.

Duffy, a former Wexford Youths player, is a current member of the New Ross Celtic squad for the 2015-'16 season and was involved with the team which travelled to Poland for last year's European games.

Like Duffy, Ian Sinnott was involved with the side which finished 19th in Europe last season and was part of the Shamrock Rovers side which won the Wexford Cup final against North End United in 2015.

Jason Goodison is one of a few additions to the squad for this campaign and is playing locally for Wexford Bohemians.

Michael Walker, an Arklow native and a team-mate of Goodison at Bohs, is also part of the squad, as is former Wexford Youths and Waterford United player Shane Nolan.

The competition, which will take place in Zagreb in July, will feature teams from at least 20 European countries and will be played over eight days.
