Kehoe's the main man

Division 2

Last season's Division 2A champions Cloughbawn continue to lead the way in the third tier of Wexford football after edging out Taghmon United on Sunday.

The pacesetters eked out a 1-0 victory, with Martin Kehoe grabbing the all-important goal.

New Ross Town are hot on their heels, however, after chalking up a 3-0 win over Crossabeg. Diarmuid Roche netted a double for the high-flying Barrowsiders, with David Murphy adding their other goal.

St. Cormac's went 2-0 down away to Wexford Celtic, but they reacted in pleasing fashion, running out 6-2 winners.

Jamie Dempsey and Brendan Burke both scored doubles for the visitors, with Ray O'Brien and James Sweeney grabbing a goal apiece.

Adamstown have been a mixed bag so far this season, and on Sunday they certainly put their best foot forward by seeing off Fastnet Rovers 3-1, with Conor Hickey, Chris Malone and Johnny Moore scoring for the winners.
