Defending champions North End United sent out a warning sign that they won't give up their title lightly with a 6-2 win over Courtown Hibs on Sunday.

Paul Murphy netted a hat-trick in their opening day 4-1 win over Sportslink Aylesbury in the LFA Senior Cup and he went one better at the weekend adding another four goals to his impressive early season haul.

Warren Broaders and Jason Swords got the other goals as the Wexford town team started off their league campaign with a swagger.

Shamrock Rovers will surely provide the biggest test to North End and although they didn't produce the fireworks of their rivals they picked up three points nonetheless.

A Ricky Foxe goal was enough to earn the Enniscorthy side their second victory after a hard-fought derby win over Moyne Rangers.

Rosslare Rangers were another side to make it two wins out of two, with a 71st minute goal edging out Curracloe United (see focus match).

Kilmore United got their first three points on the board with a good 2-1 win away to Campile United.

Peter Goldsmith gave the visitors a fifth minute lead but Dale Flynn struck to draw Campile level.

However, Aaron Goff grabbed the all-important winning goal for the Kilmore men midway through the second-half.
