Wednesday March 10 2010

NORTH END remained top of the Under-12 Premier division when overcoming relegation-threatened Curracloe thanks to goals from Sara Byrne and an own goal, giving the Wexford town side their fifth win on the trot.

St. Joseph's gave themselves a fighting chance of avoiding the drop back to Division 1 when seeing off bottom club Taghmon in a five-goal thriller. Ciara Murray scored both goals for Taghmon while Diane Kehoe, Pamela Walsh and Annie Dempsey replied for St. Joseph's.

Bunclody moved second in Division 1 when they travelled to Fastnet Rovers and won 1-0 thanks to a Michaela Farrell goal.

Killenagh remained top of Division 2A when they overcame bottom club Kilmore United 3-0 with goals from Megan Cahill, Tara Doyle and Katie Coffey.

Tombrack moved second when travelling to St. Leonards on Sunday and winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Denise Bolger.

Division 2B is tightening at the top, with Duncannon hitting form at the right time by beating leaders All Blacks 4-0 on Thursday evening and keeping up that form with another 4-0 win over Bridge Rovers on Saturday morning. Carrie Odham and Aoibheann Ryan both scored two each in their win over Rovers.

All Blacks got back to winning ways on Saturday when beating Rosslare Rangers 6-0, with Emily Coakley scoring a hat-trick and Cora Miller, Anita Cullen and Chelsea Koolhoff all adding a goal each.

Duncannon B made it eight wins from eight games when beating Glen Celtic 6-1, with Dani Odham scoring a hat-trick to add to goals from Zoe Bates (two) and Laura Waters.

St. Leonards B joined them at the top of the table when proving too strong for All Blacks' second string, with Niamh Cullen scoring a hat-trick, Muireann Kehoe and Caoimhe Power adding two each, and Elishka Barnes also finding the net.

In the Under-12 Cup, Campile travelled to Courtown and came away 4-1 winners, with Sinéad Ryan scoring a hat-trick to add to a Niamh Mernagh goal, while Caoimhe Roche responded for Hibs.
