Sophie Lenehan continued her burgeoning international career in Edinburgh on Wednesday when she played in goal with the Ireland Under-17 women's soccer side in their 3-0 friendly loss to Scotland.
The Ballindaggin United netminder continues to be the preferred first choice of manager Dave Bell as preparations continue for the UEFA European Championship qualifiers in Turkey.
The sides met again in a second friendly on Friday, and this time around Ireland won 1-0 with Naoisha McAloon in goal.
Meanwhile, switching codes but staying on the subject of international representation, congratulations to Niamh Doran from Gorey who was part of the twelve-strong Ireland Under-18 girls' rugby sevens Combined Provinces team which took part in the Sainsbury's U.K. School Games in Manchester last weekend.
Niamh was one of five players from Leinster selected after an under-age blitz was held in D.C.U. in April.
