Sophie Lenehan and her Republic of Ireland women's Under-17 squad colleagues are looking forward to the draw for the elite round after coming through their qualifying round with an impressive record.
Wins of 3-0 and 7-0 had already been recorded over Ukraine and Andorra respectively before top spot in the group was sealed with another 3-0 victory, this time over Turkey, on Tuesday.
Lenehan, who played in the in over Andorra, represented Ballindaggin United and Wexford on the 18-strong panel, all of whom were used in the qualifiers in Turkey.
The draw for the elite round will take place on December 10, with the games being staged early next year.
Meanwhile, there was great news for Wexford Youths Women's duo Carol Breen and Claire O'Riordan last week when manager Sue Ronan named both in her squad for the second Euro 2017 qualifier away to Portugal tonight (Tuesday).
They are among six forwards in contention for places along with Stephanie Roche, now with Sunderland, scorer of that goal in Ferrycarrig Park, as well as Katie McCabe (Shelbourne), Aine O'Gorman (UCD Waves) and Clare Shine (Glasgow City).
It will be a welcome distraction for the duo ahead of their appearance in the Aviva Stadium in the FAI Cup final on November 8. They will take on Shelbourne in that decider which will be televised live by RTE, with a 12.20 p.m. kick-off.
The squad left for Portugal on Friday and prepared for the game in Guimaraes which is close to the match venue in Moreira de Conegos.
Ireland lost their opening qualifier at home to Finland, and their next outing in Tallaght Stadium will be on November 26 against Spain.
