Sophie's a real star!
The name of Ballindaggin United appeared among the bring lights over the weekend, thanks to the exploits of talented goalkeeper Sophie Lenihan.
Sophie wore the number one jersey for the Republic of Ireland Under-17 women's side who began their new season with a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland in Ballymena on Saturday.
She was the only Wexford girl in action, with her team-mates including players from the Lakewood, Lagan Harps, Shelbourne, Peamount United, Douglas Hall, Salthill Devon and Castlebar Celtic clubs.
Her selection is a tremendous honour for the Ballindaggin United club, and she will switch codes on Wednesday as she lines out for the Wexford Under-16 ladies' football team in the All-Ireland 'C' final against Leitrim in Clane, Co. Kildare. The versatile Sophie plays her club football with Clonee.
