Two international debuts

While the serious injury sustained by Rianna Jarrett overshadowed everything else at the Cyprus Cup from Wexford Youth Women's point of view, it was still a great experience for two more club members who made their full international debuts.

Limerick native Claire O'Riordan got her big chance as a late substitute in the 1-0 loss to Hungary on Monday, replacing Arsenal's Katie McCabe up front in the 86th minute.

Her club colleague, Emma Hansberry, wasn't used in that tie, while Jessica Gleeson was ruled out of the running for a place in defence due to a foot injury.

And the tournament ended on a winning note on Wednesday as Finland were beaten 2-0, with Hansberry joining the growing ranks of full internationals from Wexford Youths when she replaced Diane Caldwell of Koln in Germany in the 72nd minute.

Ireland will resume their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign next month with a double header against Montenegro and Spain, and are due to meet the Fins again in June.
