U-15s claim Dublin Cup

On the Friday of the Bank holiday weekend, 19 members of the Under-15 schoolboys soccer squad travelled to the Dublin Cup played at the A.U.L. with manager P.J. Murphy and coaches Damian Kenny, Paul Dove and Malcolm Hepworth.
On Sunday they were joined by goalkeeping coach James Flood, with the tournament played over three days.
First up were Douglas Boys from Cork, and the Wexford side beat them 2-1 with goals from Seán Delaney and Kevin Kenny.
On Saturday they had two games, starting with Castleknock Celtic which Wexford won 1-0, with the goal coming from Fionn Byrne.
Two hours later they took on Donnycarney F.C. and won 2-1 with goals from Fionn Byrne and an own goal.
The Wexford boys had made it to the final on Sunday and were up against St. Patrick's from Carlow. After a tight first-half they went on to win 4-0 with goals from Seán Delaney, Stephen Kearns, and two from Kyle Kennedy, one from the penalty spot.
Team captain Evin Murphy was presented with the Umbro Dublin Cup after the game.
Trials for Under-16 schoolboys players born in the year2000 will take place as follows: Friday, August 21, All Blacks F.C., registration at 7 p.m. with trials from 7.30 to 9 p.m.; Friday, August 28, Ferns United F.C., registration at 7 p.m. with trials from 7.30 to 9 p.m.
Players coming for trials may come to both venues. All trialists should bring full training gear as well as water.
