Wexford's home draw
THE WEXFORD Women's league squad have been drawn at home to Lakewood Athletic in the first round of the F.A.I. Senior Cup which will be played on Sunday, April 11.
Lakewood come from the Cork league and were runners-up in last season's F.A.I. Women's Intermediate Cup final.
They have a reputation of being one of Cork's strongest clubs, competing with Wilton every season for the league title, and they clearly will be extremely difficult to beat.
However, this season's Wexford squad is one of the strongest to date, and manager Simon Aust is delighted with the quality of players who have made themselves available.
Full details of the squad and fixture will be in next week's paper, and of course any club with players involved in the squad will have no game on April 11 as this important encounter will take precedence.
